Mahaguru Institute of Technology(Formerly Sri Vellappally Natesan College of Engineering (SVNCE)) always endeavors in providing its students with the best career option. The department of Training and Placement is the preferred destination of the students to choose the vital source of employment and design their career in any campuses. The department is housed with well-qualified and highly experienced Aptitude & Reasoning Trainers, Verbal & Soft skill Trainers, Department Staff – Placement Coordinators & Placement Director, governed by the able leadership of the Principal, which aims at providing exceptional placement and training services to the students.

The vibrant members of the Training and Placement team train the students on the foundation course, soft skills, Life skills, motivational skills, communication skills, interpersonal Skills, leadership skills, group discussions, interview techniques, Aptitude, Reasoning, and Verbal and monitor them on the continual assessment model. They also cater other services such as Mentoring, counseling, assisting in internship, Industrial visit and campus recruitments. The goal of the Department of Training & Placement is to provide employment opportunities and world class training to students with the support of Industry Experts, Subject Matter Experts (Internal & External), and with Alumni of the college.

Since Inception, MIT gives prominence on fulfilling the industry expectation and requirements. For this reason, the students are introduced to industrial practices through training in the institute workshops and in factories, installation works etc.. right from the first year of the graduation. Department of Placement primarily ensures smooth functioning of the placement activities as the centre is facilitated with an illustrious training agenda aimed at bringing in the best opportunities for its students from both national and international companies for campus recruitments. The Training and Placement Cell imparts training to students from the first year onwards giving emphasis to various skill sets in view of matching the Industries’ requirement. Resource persons and professionals from reputed organization along with members of staff train students. The weak students are identified and passable mentoring is given to them; focusing to improve their overall performance in placement and academic.

To accomplish this strategically, the Institution reaches out to almost an enormous number of recruiters seeking opportunities for its student to prosper without restricting itself to any geographical limitations.

ACTIVITIES

  • Identifying the Training needs include Quantitative, Verbal & Technical skill-set.
  • Classification of skill based training matching the Industry Standards.
  • Mapping the skill level of the students
  • Spotting the gap between the expectation of the employers and the current skill level of the students as it is the need of the hour.
  • Developing full-fledged training programs on various domains to make them employable.
  • Evaluating effectiveness of the Training programs by analyzing the feedback obtained from the trainers as well as the trainees and implementing the necessary remedial measures in order to increase the efficiency of the Training programs.
  • Identification of prospective recruiters based on the prospects of long term career growth.
  • Contacting the recruiters and analyze the expectation of those recruiters from their employees.
  • Creating awareness about the Industry Expectations by making the students attend several events such as Industry Connect, Corporate Connect, Industrial Visits, through which students get ample opportunities to interact with industry experts and senior academicians.
  • Organizing On and Off campus placement drives for the smooth the progress of recruitment activities.
